in Spain, and 4 in Angola. Compared to the previous
year, 9 Restaurants opened and 12 closed, totalling a
decrease of 3 units.
To ensure sustained development of the businesses,
Ibersol maintained the effort to continually improve
and consolidate the core skills and shared processes
underpinning the following departments: Administra-
tion, Purchasing and Logistics, Management Control,
Marketing, Quality, Human Resources and Information
Systems. These support functions orient the activity
carried out in the different businesses and units, en-
couraging continual improvement and simultaneously
maintaining the consistency and efficiency of the Group
in general. To that end, they develop processes andwork
with each Businesses and units to ensure sustained
growth at economic, social and environmental level.
Regarding the portfolio of Ibersol businesses, the year
2014 was marked by the business consolidation in
Angola with the opening of two KFC units, currently
amounting to 5 restaurants in that country. We should
also mention the opening of a new Miit unit in the Co-
lombo Shopping Centre, five Burger King restaurants
(Braga, Viseu, Island of SãoMiguel in the Azores, Lisbon
and Matosinhos) and a new concept in the Lisbon Air-
port (Specially).
In 2014, Ibersol continued to invest on innovation
through the development of a new concept of ‘street
flavours’ called Roulotte - a restaurant opened in No-
vember in the Norte Shopping shopping centre.By the
end of 2014, the Ibersol Group operated 371 Restaurants,
127 of themwere own brands, and 244 were franchised
brands. Of the total, 300 were based in Portugal, 67
