Weshouldhighlightthefulfilmentofachallengingplan, in2015, toexpand
the business, which resulted in the opening of 15 units in Portugal and
four in Angola. In Portugal, we resumed the market expansion with the
opening of 10 new Burger King units, four Pizza Hut units and one KFC
unit. The business consolidation was also accomplished in the Spanish
an Angolan markets. In the latter, and despite the current instability
context, the first Pizza Hut unit was opened, along with three new KFC
units. In theSpanishmarketwehave implemented, in a pioneerway and
with considerable results, the home-delivery systemof Burger King.
By the end of the fiscal year, the total number of units operated by
the Ibersol Group was 377, of which 122 were own brands, and 255
corresponded to franchised brands. Of the total, 303 were located
in Portugal, 66 in Spain, and 8 in Angola. We should also point out
that a total of 19 restaurants were opened, all of them own brands,
and 13 were closed, resulting in an increase of 6 units.
To ensure the sustained development of the businesses, Ibersol
maintained the effort to continually improve and consolidate the
core skills and shared processes underpinning the following De-
partments: Administration, Purchasing and Logistics, Management
Control, Expansion, Financial, Marketing, Legal, Quality, and Human
Resources. These support functions steer the activity carried out in
the different businesses and units, encouraging continual improve-
ment and simultaneouslymaintaining the consistency and efficiency
Business Portfolio
