Ibersol is a multi-brand group established in the Iberian
Peninsula and in Portuguese-speaking countries, posi-
tioned in the organized foodservice business. It respects
the values associated to quality, safety and the environ-
ment, based on qualified and motivated personnel com-
mitted to fully satisfying consumer needs, thereby assu-
ring a suitable return for its shareholders’ investments.

PROFILE
Business Portfolio
With regard to the portfolio of Ibersol businesses, the
year 2012 was basically marked by two events: the ope-
ning of the first Ibersol Restaurants in Angola and the
development of a new grilled meat concept known as
Miit.
In August 2012 Ibersol opened its first KFC Restaurant in
Angola close to Luanda Airport, thereby accomplishing
the strategy of expanding the business to other markets
with language affinities. In October the brand’s second
store opened at the Centro Comercial Belas Shopping
in the same city. International expansion will continue;
it is envisaged that these new markets may account for
about 25% of turnover in the next five-year period.
At end 2012 the Ibersol Group thus operated 382 res-
taurants, 101 of them own brands and 281 franchised
brands.
Of the total, 307 were based in Portugal, 73 in Spain and
2 in Angola. Compared to the previous year, 7 restau-
rants opened and 20 closed, for a decrease of 13 units.
To ensure sustained development of the businesses,
we maintained the effort to continually improve and
consolidate the core skills and shared processes un-
derpinning the following departments: Administration,
Purchasing, Management Control, Logistics, Marketing,
Quality, Human Resources and Information Systems.
These support functions orient activity carried out in
the different businesses and units, encouraging conti-
nual improvement and simultaneously maintaining the
consistency and efficiency of the Group in general. To
that end, they develop processes and work with each
brand and unit to ensure sustained growth at economic,
social and environmental level.
