Business Portfolio
Regarding the portfolio of Ibersol businesses, the year
2013 was basically marked by the business consolida-
tion in Angola with the opening of the third KFS store in
Luanda, and also with the opening of two restaurants
Miit - a grilled meat concept that completed its anniver-
sary in November 2013 – in Lisbon and Cascais. Pasta
Caffé renovated its image in 2013, starting this change
at its unit located in the Vasco da Gama shopping cen-
tre. With the purpose of bringing the brand close to the
customer, Ibersol revitalized the space, service, prod-
ucts and prices. Regarding the product, and relying on
the creativity of the chef Luís Américo, the classic Italian
dishes were reinvented and are now served in a differ-
ent manner.
We should also point out the opening of a new Burger
King unit in Mem Martins.
At the end of 2013, the Ibersol Group operated 374 res-
taurants, 132 of them were own brands, and 242 were
franchised brands.
Of the total, 301 were based in Portugal, 70 in Spain, and
3 in Angola. Compared to the previous year, 4 restaurants
opened and 12 closed, totalling a decrease of 8 units.
To ensure sustained development of the businesses, Ib-
ersol maintained the effort to continually improve and
consolidate the core skills and shared processes under-
pinning the following departments: Administration, Pur-
chasing and Logistics, Management Control, Marketing,
Quality, Human Resources and Information Systems.
These support functions orient activity carried out in the
different businesses and units, encouraging continual
improvement and simultaneously maintaining the con-
sistency and efficiency of the Group in general. To that
end, they develop processes and work with each brand
and unit to ensure sustained growth at economic, social
and environmental level.
