Environmental Performance is one of the axes of sustain-
ability at the Ibersol Group.
The impact of the activity is measured andmanaged in
order to implement measures that protect the environ-
ment. Fromwastemanagement to energymanagement,
all employees play a vital role in themission of preserv-
ing the planet.
As a result of the implementation of the Group’s strat-
egy in assuring a better protection of the environment,
APCER granted Ibersol, in 2014, the certification of the
food service operationsmanagement of the Group, with
the standard NP EN SO 14001:2004 – Environmental
Management Systems. This certification reveals the
commitment of the Group to improve its environmental
performance through the management of the impact
of its activities, thus contributing to the optimization
of the use of natural resources, the protection of the
environment and the reduction in pollution.
This way, in the area of environmental management,
the Ibersol Group continues to work to reduce the
environmental impacts arising from:
- The production of packaging waste;
- The production of Used Food Oils;
- Energy consumption;
- CO
2
Emissions;
- Water consumption.
Waste Management
The packaging waste management covers not only the
service packages provided to the customers, by each
business of the Group, but also the packages of every
raw material that are imported.
In order to assure themanagement of the packaging cy-
cle, reassuring the return, valorisation and recycling, thus
reducing the volume of landfill-deposited waste, every
company of the Ibersol Group adhered to the Packaging
Waste Management Integrated System coordinated by
the Sociedade Ponto Verde, thereby helping to comply
with the European recycling goal to which Portugal
is committed to. In 2014, an historical maximum was
achieved, taking into account the last 18 years.
