Energy Certification of Buildings
It is estimated that around 40%of the European energy
consumption is destined to the regular operation of
infrastructures. Therefore, it is crucial to improve the
energy performance of the buildings in order to assure
the planet’s sustainability.
The Ibersol Group, which is always alert to this issue,
has been implementing the standards related to en-
ergy efficiency of the buildings in its constructions,
namely in the new Burger King street restaurants
with drive, which already own an energy class cer-
tificate. The planning of new constructions includes:
- Analysis of the elements and materials used in the
constructions of walls, windows, roofing and floor;
- Analysis of the efficiency of the equipments
used for air conditioning and water heating;
- Analysis of the use of renewable energies.
Acquiring the energy certification allows:
- To identify the energy performance of the
construction;
- Estimate energy consumption, under certain
conditions;
- To identify measures that improve energy efficiency
and the comfort, and that reduce the costs with energy;
We believe that this planning contributed to improve
energy efficiency approx. by 66%regarding the air con-
ditioning system, 36% regarding lightning, and 47%
regarding the heating of sanitary water. These values
were achieved through the use of measures such as the
installation of solar panels and the selection of building
materials that allows the maximum level of thermal
insulation (exterior walls built with a double plaster
board, air gap, stone wool, sandwich panel and metal
plate, and roofing of plasterboard, air gap, metal plate,
stone wool and waterproofing. The window openings
are two layers of 4 mm glass, with a solar coefficient of
0.5, and with an air gap of 22 mm).
Participation in the Program
Galp
ProEnergy
In the context of the Plan for the Promotion of Efficiency
in the Electric Energy Consumption, Galp Energia has
established a partnership with RNAE (Energy and Envi-
ronment Agencies Association - National Network), ISQ
(Welding and Quality Institution), and Sair da Casca (a
consulting company focused on sustainable develop-
ment and social responsibility). The company is nowde-
veloping a programto raise awareness in the companies
regarding the efficiency in electric power consumption.
This program includes free training and counselling
made available to companies regarding the best prac-
tices in the use of energy, the activity and themeasures
to be taken to start the implementation of their energy
efficiency plan.
The technicians responsible for the engineering projects
of the Ibersol Group participate in this program, with the
purpose of knowing and improve the energy consump-
tion profiles of the Group and thus are able to reduce
energy consumption.
