Emissions
In 2014 continued to show the effects of the replacement of electric equipments with gas equipments, therefore
the direct emissions have increased. However, comparing to 2013, we avoided indirect emissions.

To prefer national products also helps reducing the ‘eco-
logical footprint’. By giving priority to the acquisition of
national products to supply the restaurants of the Ibersol
Group, we are helping to reduce the ecological footprint.
The proximity of the producers allows to deliver fresher
andmore nutritious products to the customer, but also
to assure that the duration of the transport is shortened.
By reducing transport times, we reduce CO
2
emissions
to the atmosphere, and this corresponds to a significant
reduction in the supply chain at the end of the year. A
faster transportation and storage cyclemakes possible
to achieve a high efficiency level, with very positive re-
flexes regarding savings and quality, to the company, the
customer and the environment: nationally produced,
fresher products, less time and costs of transportation
and storage, and reduced environmental impact. In line
with the goal to reduce CO
2
emissions, and therefore the
‘ecological footprint’ of the supply chain, we continue
to prefer the use of products of national origin and of
the season.
Ibersol, in partnership with its logistics operator, con-
tinues to invest in the continuous improvement of the
whole logistics operation, in order tominimise the costs
with the transports, optimize circuits and reduce the
mileage with empty trucks. Furthermore, the selected
operator implements and assumes, in its strategic plan,
a policy of sustainable development , based on the
measurement and reduction of the environmental im-
pacts of cold logistics, namely by using green diesel
in its fleets and establishing a management plan for
worn tires.
