Good Environmental Practices
Per the aforementioned guidelines for effective waste
management and streamlined energy use, Ibersol pro-
motes the adoption of good environmental manage-
ment practices by its brands.
One noteworthy example is the responsible environ-
mental approach taken by Silva Carvalho Catering,
which is equipped with reusable towels, napkins, glas-
ses and dishware. Whenever possible, the company
suggests decorative objects that can also be reused. In
2012 it became even ‘greener’ by means of its new part-
nership with the Estoril Congress Centre, Portugal’s only
space certified as a Green Venue, due to its ecological
practices and commitment to sustainable business.
At the 2012 IUFRO (International Union of Forest Rese-
arch Organizations) Congress organized by the House
of Events company in July, more than 400 forest rese-
arch scientists met at the Estoril Congress Centre. Silva
Carvalho Catering used reusable decorative centres and
glass tables to minimize the energy cost of washing ta-
blecloths. In-season fruit and vegetables were also ser-
ved, alongside meals with local, fresh and varied ingre-
