Packaging Waste
The packaging waste management covers not only the service pa-
ckaging provided to the customers, by each business of the Group,
but also the packaging of every raw material that is imported.
In order to assure the management of the packaging cycle, reassu-
ring the return, valorisation and recycling, thus reducing the volume
of landfill-deposited waste, every company of the Ibersol Group
adhered to the Packaging Waste Management Integrated System
coordinated by the Sociedade Ponto Verde. We continue to promote
the daily selective separation of waste from packages (paper/card-
board, plastic/metal and glass) both in the restaurant units and in the
offices of the Ibersol Group. We should also point out that 100% of
the units of the Ibersol Group are enrolled in the Verdoreca system
created by the Sociedade Ponto Verde, which reinforces our role in
the national program of selective separation of waste.
In 2015, and under the scope of Ibersol’s activity, a total of 657 tonnes
of waste from service packages was produced. Although this value
represents globally a total increase of 17%, compared to the activity
of the previous year, we should note that this increase is the result
of the growth of the activity of the Group. Likewise, the waste as-
sociated with packages of imported rawmaterials increased by 19%
(333 tonnes of waste), also due to the growth of our activity.
