The heavy structure of the Ibersol Group obligates to a conscious
action to optimize consumption and avoid loss of energy, by adop-
ting measures that allows the systems to be optimized in the food
and beverage sector. One of the main focuses is the Rational Use
of Energy (URE, Utilização Racional de Energia), that promotes an
adequate use and purchase of equipment.
Ibersol joined the liberalized market of electricity and natural gas
in 2015, and this led to a reduction of the cost at these two levels.
During the last year, and regarding the energy efficiency, we made
decisions and took measures to promote the reduction of the con-
sumption of electric energy and gas, such as:
Electricity
We maintained the investment in the up lamping program, which
gradually replaces the existing lighting solutions with other op-
tions more ecologic, such as LED lighting solutions, ECO bulbs, the
use of electronic ballasts and presence sensors. The use of LED
technology is now indisputable. The benefits of this type of lighting
as numerous, compared to the conventional technologies. Besides
enabling a reduction of up to 90% of energy with the replacement of
the incandescent bulbs, the LEDbulbs also lower the emission of heat,
are built with semiconductor material offering greater robustness
and a larger life span (they provide more than 30 thousand working
