to detect malfunctions in the capacitor batteries, repair them, and
adopt a number of preventive measures, such as the replacement
of capacitors and contactors that were reaching the end of their
service life.
Equipments
The refrigeration equipments and the refrigeration and freezing
rooms are responsible for the consumption of one of the largest
portions of energy. Therefore we were especially attentive to this
subject. Besides the awareness-raising regarding the reduction of
the number of times the equipment doors are opened, the fixing
of warped doors and replacement of the insulation rubbers of the
doors, we also bought no-frost refrigerators that increase the energy
efficiency, since these have a continuous internal air circulation and
avoid the formation of ice.
We have also installed ECubes (passive equipments placed in the
probes of the refrigeration and freezing rooms to avoid temperatu-
re variations due to de opening of the doors. This way, the ECubes
promote the stabilization of the equipments and also of the tem-
perature of the products stored, thus reducing the consumption of
electric energy.
Additionally to the acquisition of equipment with the energy class
A+++ and of equipment with the energy classification of Energy Star
and GEA, we also changed a few layouts, by placing refrigeration
