School, in Funchal.
Also in this context, Burger King Portas do Mar, in Ponta Delgada,
received 30 students with financial difficulties, appointed by the
Social Development Division of the Ponta Delgada City Council, in
order to host a ‘Cozinha Aberta’ (Open Kitchen) event, followed by
the offering of meals. In Madeira, the programme ‘Cozinha Aberta’
(Open Kitchen) was held at Pizza Hut Funchal, a unit that was visited
by 120 children throughout the year.
The programme ‘Hut Aprender’ (Hut Learning programme) brought,
in 2015, more than 300 children to the kitchens of several Pizza
Hut units (Setubal Bocage; S. João daMadeira; Maia Parque Central;
Fórum Aveiro; Funchal), to participate in a guided tour and to cook
a pizza with their own hands. The ‘Hut Aprender’ programme stan-
ds out as an action with an interesting return, given that often the
children return to the restaurants as customers, with their parents.
The Pizza Hut Foz, Gaia Shopping and Dolce Vita Porto units also
received several visits in the context of the protocol signed with
the National Confederation of Parents Association. More than 60
children had the opportunity to have a different day and to learn
about the processes of food production, preparation, and of food
safety and hygiene, and also received a freemeal. TheNorteShopping
