the Higher Institute of Administration andManagement,
who visited the kitchen and had the opportunity to cook
their ownmeal, and got to know the practical use of the
standards for food safety.
Offering of Meals and Food Donation
Ibersol continues to support the community by donating
food from products not consumed at catering events
or festivals.
Silva Carvalho Catering celebrates collaboration proto-
cols with local institutions, with the purpose of donating
the food surplus from the catering events held.
In 2014, in the Lisbon metropolitan area, the partner-
ship with Casa da Sopa Mãe Maria de Nazaré remained
operational, allowing to make use of the food surplus
that guaranteed 5,878meals delivered to themost need-
ing families.
Regarding the North region, Silva Carvalho Catering
and Catering of the Dragão Stadium directed the food
surplus from the events held to the Associação Coração
da Cidade, the Child Protection Association and the
Associação de Escolas do Torne e do Prado, totalling
approximately 7,500Kg of food donations.
KFC have also gathered and donated the food surplus
from the Rock in Rio Lisbon andNOS Alive 2014 festivals,
and routed the not consumed products to the Re-food
association that picks up the food leftovers from restau-
rants and distributes them to needing families.
The Ibersol units located in the Azores and Madeira
sponsored varied events with the offering of meals.
The participation in the local community’s school and
sportive lives is very active, often through the offering
of meals to those who participate in these initiatives.
In 2014, nearly 430meals were served to support events
such as the 25th Edition of the School Games, the Desa-
fiodoCoraçãodaDragon Force and theClubede Futebol
Andorinha de Santo António, competitions from the
Swimming Federation of Ponta Delgada and the dinner
party of the handball athletes of theMarítimo Sport Club.
Also in Azores, we sponsored the events ‘Festa das Cores’
(Colour Party), at the Urban Park of Ponta Delgada, the
4th Educational Week for Azorean overweighed youths,
