Other initiatives
In the scope of the Rally Sata Açores tournament, an
autograph session with the pilot Bernardo Sousa was
held in the Units Pizza Hut and Pasta Caffé at the Parque
Atlântico shopping centre. In return, we offered meals
at lower prices to the participants in the tournament
during the competition.
Together with the Social Assistance and Fostering Centre
BernardoManuel Silveira Estrela, Burger King Portas do
Mar, Burger King Parque Atlântico and Pizza Hut Parque
Atlântico offered toys to children fromneeding families
from the Ribeira Grande region.
Pizza Hut Fórum Sintra admitted an intern with cogni-
tive impairment, in the scope of the project ‘Transição
para a Vida Adulta e Autodeterminação’ (Transition to
the Adult Life and Self-determination). This 17 years old
boy attends the 11th grade of the special education and
performs his practical internship of the course in Pizza
Hut, every Monday afternoon.
The unit Burger King Cascais sponsored the goalkeepers’
training academy Keeper Safe, which has the participa-
tion of 21 young athletes. The brand also sponsored the
teamSport Clube de Guifões at the 3rd Street Basket Vila
de Guifões. This type of association is in line with the
Burger King concern regarding the adoption of healthy
lifestyles, and the inclusion of sportive habits.
Having this in mind, Burger King of Matosinhos pro-
moted zumba classes in August, and invited everybody
to participate. Sweet-water swimming pools were also
installedwith aqua fitness and swimming classes, fitness
classes and inflatable structures for children to play on,
under the scope of the initiative ‘Summer Days’.
The Group was contacted by a disabled person asking
for help for acquiring an elevation winch, in order to
improve his mobility, a request that Ibersol accepted,
and paid for this equipment in full.
Ibersol is also a benefactor of the Portuguese Red Cross,
which we support in the form of an annual donation.
