Mar in the Azores, with the support of Viva Bem, hosted a
visit by young people who were given the opportunity to
visit the restaurant’s kitchen and taste a balanced meal.
The KFC and Burger King at MadeiraShopping in turn
received a visit from a class at Funchal’s Francisco Fer-
nandes Vocational School as part of a school-organized
contest. Those units sponsored the event, offering a din-
ner to the winning class as well as a visit to its kitchens.
Besides occasional visits, the Ibersol Group and especial-
ly Pizza Hut have undertaken initiatives on a more con-
tinual basis with the aim of reaching out to the younger
public. The Hut Aprender (Hut Learning) program stands
out, along with the presence at the Kidzania theme park
in the Dolce Vita Tejo shopping centre.
Visit by Winning Class of Lapinhas Contest organized by
the Francisco Fernandes Vocational School
Silva Carvalho Catering and the Sintra central kitchens
hosted a visit by two groups of young people studying
restaurant technique at the Vocational School for Agri-
culture and Rural Development of Cister, Alcobaça. This
action included visits to the kitchens, warehouses, tast-
ing room and showroom. The students were also able
to see how a catering event is organized, thus learning
more about that business area.
In the service areas, four SOL stores hosted 160 visitors
in four study visits, providing an opportunity to learn
about the respective units’ kitchens.
Ten study visits involving the Pizza Hut, Burger King and
KFC brands were conducted at Ibersol restaurants locat-
ed in the Azores and Madeira.
