c) Right Arm
The Braço Direito (Right Arm) project involves students
from School EB 2,3 Nicolau Nasoni, who accompany a
professional (volunteer) during a working day. During
that day the professional shares experience and know-
ledge with the student, who takes part in the volunteer’s
daily activities. The project’s goals are to contribute to-
ward the vocational orientation of young people who
visit the company, giving them a first contact with the
job world and different available career paths, besides
providing them with knowledge about the culture and
practices of the host organization. In 2012 Ibersol took
in nine students from the Nicolau Nasoni School, who
accompanied various professionals from the central
structure (marketing department, secretariat), busi-
nesses (multi-brand training, Pasta Caffé and Pizza Hut
coordination, restaurant teams from Norteshopping, Ò
Kilo and Flor de Oliveira) and also the Norteshopping
central warehouse.
d) Rugby at Schools
This project’s aim is to carry out an intergroup Porto of
the Future rugby tournament to promote connections
between the various schools, joint student sports practi-
ce and the education of young citizens through rugby va-
lues. The tournament includes children’s and beginners’
teams and presents three competition periods. In this
project students also have the opportunity to attend a
national rugby team match, in 2012 played in Coimbra.
The partnerships’ role in this context is to accompany its
school’s team by sponsoring the players’ t-shirts, trips
during the three competition phases and also travel to
attend the national rugby team match. The companies
and schools are also asked to provide volunteers to ac-
company the teams. This year Ibersol was unable to in-
volve volunteers to follow the competitions. We never-
theless contributed by continuing to sponsor the team
t-shirts, as well as transport to the three competitions
and to the national rugby team match in Coimbra.
